Elder Man’s Zipper

An elderly man came up to me today while I was sitting at the bus stop. He asked me whether I would help him to do up the zipper on his rain jacket. It had just started to rain and he said he had forgotten his glasses at home and so couldn’t do his zipper. The fact that he was lame on the right side of his body, and his one good hand was clutching a bag and walking stick, was not mentioned as to the reason for his predicament. I certainly wasn’t about to mention it. Social propriety pure.
